Setting up Your nova.org Email
The basic information you need is this: Any time a program asks for a “mail server” (whether that is incoming, outgoing, or whatever), the answer is mailbox.nova.org. Any time you need a user name for email, it will always be your full email address (e.g., example@nova.org).
Incoming Server
- Type: IMAP
- Host Name: mailbox.nova.org
- Port: 993
- User name:
your-email@nova.org
- Password: your password
- SSL or TLS must be enabled
Outgoing Server
- Type: SMTP
- Host Name: mailbox.nova.org
- Port: 587
- User name:
your-email@nova.org
- Password: your password
- SSL or TLS must be enabled
- Authentication must be enabled
Web Mail
Login to your Web Mail at: https://mailbox.nova.org/. From there you can do a few useful things:
- Change your password
- Send and receive mail
- Edit mail filters (so messages can be filed in folders automatically based on things like who they’re from or their subject lines)
- Turn the “vacation” program on and off (to automatically reply to emails)
How-To Guides
These how-to guides can help. Remember the server name is always mailbox.nova.org, not the server name shown in the guides. Your username is your email address, which *might* be @nova.org, or it might not be.
- Microsoft Outlook: Configure an IMAP Mailbox Outlook
- Mail on a Mac: Add an IMAP Account in Apple Mail
- iPhone or iPad: Add an IMAP Account on an iPhone/iPad
